What is TUI Airways?
TUI Airways Limited, or TUI as is commonly referred to, is a British Charter airline that offers scheduled and charter flights from the UK and Ireland, to several destinations in Europe, Africa, Asia, and North America. This airline, which was formerly known as Thomson Airways, is the largest charter airline in the entire world. In 2019, for instance, it ferried 11.8 million passengers.
It also boasts of being the 4th largest UK airline based on the total passengers carried (after Easy Jet, British Airways, and Jet2.com). This company’s operating license allows it to carry passengers, cargo, as well as mail on aircraft that have 20+ seats. Its headquarters are currently in Wigmore House (Luton, Bedfordshire).
Do they have a wide variety of aircraft?
No. TUI Airways does not have a wide variety of aircraft, though this is largely due to the structure of its operations. As an airline charter. This company’s objective is to transport as many passengers as possible at a go, which is why it mainly focuses on purchasing large-capacity aircraft. Its current fleet is actually comprised of Boeing aircraft, which have capacities of up to 382 passengers.
TUI Airway’s fleet comprises of the following aircraft:
- Boeing 737-800 – 29 aircraft
- 12 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft
- 4 Boeing 737 MAX 10 arcraft
- Boeing 757-200 (will be replaced with Boeing 737 MAX 10s)– 4 aircraft
- 4 Boeing 767-300ER aircraft (will be replaced with Boeing 787- 9s)
- Boeing 787-8-8 aircraft
- Boeing 787-9 – 8 aircraft
Do they have a wide variety of pricing options for different budgets?
No. Like most charter airlines, the prices are usually mostly fixed, with very little variances. If two passengers are flying through the same route, and are carrying luggage that has the same weight, they’ll most likely be charged the same amount of money, without being offered any other budgetary options to choose from. There are some companies that have various budgetary categories that you can choose from, though the budget that you choose ends up determining the quality of services delivered (the amenities you have access to).
Does TUI Airways offer Flight sharing services?
No. Being an airline, this company doesn’t offer any flight-sharing services. Private air charter companies are the ones that offer flight-sharing services, in a bid to give customers the chance to minimize their flight expenses.
In a flight sharing model, one customer usually charters an entire aircraft, then allows other people (family members, friends, business partners, etc.) to join him or her in paying for the total expenses incurred, as they travel together. This is a great feature if you’re trying to ensure that you have a great travel experience for less, without compromising on quality (luxury).
TUI Airways has group travel packages, which can help you reap almost similar benefits to those offered by flight-sharing services.
Does TUI Airways accept Bitcoin Payments?
No. According to this company’s website, only the following forms of payment are accepted:
- Debit cards – Maestro, MasterCard Debit, Visa Electron, Visa Debit, Delta.
- Credit Cards – Visa, MasterCard
- Cheques
- Direct Debit
- PayPal
Before paying for your flight using any of the listed forms of payment above, you can perhaps give cryptocurrency payments a try. Besides being more secure than most of the conventional methods, crypto payments do not attract any taxes, are way faster, and have lower transaction charges. This, in my opinion, is a perfect combination of features that those who are booking their flights in the near future should take advantage of.
P.S.
See the full list of private jet companies that accept Bitcoin (and other cryptocurrencies) on this page
Membership options?
There are no membership options that are being offered by this company at the moment. This is a feature that you’ll also mostly find with private charters, but some airlines have also come up with creative ways to offer the same. The presence or absence of a membership program may only matter if you’re a frequent flyer who prefers private air charter services. When using an airline such as TUI Airways, the prices will be significantly low, to the extent that you’ll not be busy hunting for discounts and bonuses.
The quality of the support?
TUI Airways allows its customers to make inquiries and request help using any of the following avenues:
- Download the TUI App – easiest way to communicate with support staff

- Social media messaging platforms e.g. Facebook, Twitter.
We shall see in the customer reviews section whether its support services are of the desirable quality.

- Europe
- Central America
- Africa
- Carribean
- North America
- Asia
